Abu Dhabi invited to TCM participation

Norwegian Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy Per Rune Henriksen has invited the Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Head of Masdar to visit Mongstad and to participate in Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM).
- We want to have more partners to develop CO2 capture technology at Mongstad. Abu Dhabi invests in carbon capture and storage to help solve the climate challenge. Among their exciting plans, is the use CO2 for enhanced recovery of oil. We want them to join TCM and I have presented an invitation to the energy minister, says Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy Per Rune Henriksen from Abu Dhabi.
There, Henriksen met with Energy Minister Mohamed Bin Dhaen Al Hamli, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the company Masdar Sultan Al Jaber, the management of state oil company ADNOC and head of IRENA Adnan Amin. Topics for the bilateral meetings have been increased industrial cooperation, energy security, carbon capture and storage (CCS), energy efficiency and climate issues. The meetings also included representatives of Statoil, Intsok, TCM and Innovation Norway.
-United Arab Emirates is one of the world's largest oil exporters and also focuses on sustainable solutions for the future. During my meetings with the Minister and the head of Masdar, I have invited them to increase cooperation on carbon capture and storage. I believe there is great potential for increased cooperation between our two countries in the energy field and that Norwegian industry can contribute to the development of the United Arab Emirates energy sector, said Henriksen.
The State Secretary is attending the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi. WFES is an important international conference and the exhibition is focusing on sustainable energy solutions. The presence of UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and a number of heads of state underlined the importance that the conference has. A number of Norwegian companies attending the fair, and TCM has its own exhibition and will present during the conference.
